Travertine
Travertine is a white concretionary form of calcium carbonate that is usually hard and semi crystalline. It is deposited from the water of mineral springs, especially hot springs. The largest building in the world constructed largely of travertine is the Coliseum in Rome, Italy. Most travertine used as decorative stone is a white, tan or cream colored, fairly dense rock that consists largely of calcite. Travertine can be used on counter tops, vanities and flooring. GranTops offers exclusive travertine from Bahia called Crema Brazil.
